Strengthening Iran–Vietnam Tech Ties: Ambassador Explores ISTT’s Innovation Ecosystem
Mr. Nguyen Luong Ngoc, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid his first official visit to Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT). The visit aimed to explore the scientific, technological, and economic capacities of the knowledge-based companies hosted by ISTT. Ambassador Ngoc expressed his admiration for the level of innovation and progress achieved in Isfahan, stating that the city’s advancements in science and technology had left a strong impression on him.
During discussions with ISTT officials, both sides agreed to initiate virtual meetings between Iranian tech firms and Vietnamese counterparts to explore potential areas of cooperation. Furthermore, selected companies whose products and services align with the needs of the Vietnamese market will be invited to participate in trade exhibitions in Vietnam. These initiatives are expected to pave the way for deeper collaboration in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
Commenting on the impact of international sanctions, Ambassador Ngoc emphasized that such restrictions are unlikely to pose a serious obstacle to joint efforts between Iran and Vietnam. He noted that many countries are actively engaging with Iran and expressed confidence in Vietnam’s ability to expand scientific and economic relations with Iranian partners. ISTT, as one of Iran’s leading hubs for innovation, currently hosts over 800 knowledge-based and tech companies across diverse fields including biotechnology, nanotechnology, ICT, energy, and industrial equipment—and stands ready to collaborate with international partners such as Vietnam.
